On Saturday, from 9am – 8pm, every 2nd weekend in August, Central New York hosts a Highland Games, Pipe Band competition and Celtic ethnic activities at the incredible venue of Long Branch Park on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse. 2023 will be our 80th running of the games. Our family-friendly GAMES offers a day full of Competitions for: Solo Piping, Drumming & Pipe Bands, Highland Dancing & Heavy Athletics. We also have Children’s Games, entertainment, Celtic themed vendors & food, clans & societies, harpers, Syracuse Irish Session & Massed Bands.
For our 80th Games, this year, we are going back to our roots. Our featured tartan is the Douglas tartan. The Douglas tartan is dark green, navy blue, royal blue, black and white. The modern sett (pattern) is the principal tartan for the family.
For more information on the Douglas tartans, you can read up on them here
